When trying to receive email I get an error 0x800CCC0D. What does this mean?

0x800CCC0D is an error code, usually used by Outlook and Outlook Express, and just like most codes, it can be translated into Human-readable english.

Outlook/Outlook Express have about 50 errors of this type, but we just cover the 10 most common on this website.

0x800CCC0D translates to "Cannot find the Server".

Some of the things to check when you experience this problem are:

Can you get webpages? If not, try rebooting your computer and if you still have a problem with your Internet Connection you should contact your ISP.

If you can get webpages, it means that your Email client e.g., Outlook, can not communicate with your mail server. Make sure that you are using the correct address. For example, if your domain is mydomain.com, your incoming server should be set to pop.mydomain.com and your outgoing server should either be set to your ISP's mail server, or to smtp.mydomain.com

If you have checked these settings and they appear correct you can open a support request by going here.
