How do I transfer my .com/.org/.net/.biz/.info to IE Internet?
- If your domain name is a .com, .org, .net, .biz, .info, here are the steps involved in transferring your domain to IE Internet:
- Place an order for the transfer of your domain here.
- IE Internet applies to the current Registry with a request to transfer the domain name away from them.
- Providing the current provider has not placed a Registrar Lock on the domain name, we proceed on to step 4. However, if there is a Registrar Lock on the domain, the transfer is refused immediately. In order to get the lock removed, you must contact your current registrar.
- An email containing an Auth-Code is sent to the administrative contact for the domain. The administrative contact for the domain is the person who must approve all changes and transfers for this domain.
- The Auth-Code must be emailed to our hostmaster (hostmaster@ieinternet.com).
- Once the transfer has been approved, international Internet regulations state that there must be a five day waiting period, during which the transfer can be challenged.
- Once this five day waiting period is over, the transfer to the new Registry will be complete. If you ordered a hosting package along with your transfer, IE Internet will then make all necessary technical changes. These changes are then broadcast across the Internet, a process which takes another 24 to 48 hours.
