Virus found but needed urgently

What happens if a virus is detected but the email contains important information, which is needed urgently?

Once an email attachment is determined to be infected, the offending attachment is stripped from the email. It is replaced by an automatic notification message and quarantined. The uninfected body of the message is still delivered.
